A Php210 Worth of a Healthy You Diet

What's your version of a healthy diet? Atkins, south beach, fad diet? Maybe fasting?
That sounds morbid.

Most of the time these healthy diet programs are not readily available in most Philippine locals. Food finds on printed materials, however, suggest options that are surely healthy. Certain choices like Vietnamese Rice Rolls served in  large platters with equal amounts of meat and vegetable products  can work for big meals like lunch and dinner. One set of order for Vietnamese Rice Rolls costs around Php1000 or more. That would at least take you Php7000 a week. It is one smart option but it can be, at the same time, an oversimplification of a diet regimen. We would mostly end up going home with our wallet broke.

Anyone given the carte blanche would choose the best healthy diet program for them. But without necessarily having have to come home dirt poor from over spending with diet programs.

Readings and inquiries have given me similarly good  and less costly choices.

1. Quaker Fruits & Nuts Oatmeal

Oats are significant source of fiber. Fibers essentially act as sponge so that when they are taken in adequate amount they form bulks that absorb other by-products of the food we eat. In that case, these by-products don't end up adding extra weight to our body. And fibers also trap substances related to cholesterol.

Quaker fruits & nuts oatmeal is a whole grain that is likewise loaded with real apples, raisins, and pecans. You actually eat real pieces of this group of food mentioned in every spoon of Quaker fruits & nuts oatmeal. It's a good alternative to another healthy but slightly more expensive healthy whole grain product, Muesli Cereals.

Each serving of Quaker fruits & nuts oatmeal that is equivalent to 1/2 cup or 4 scoops of oatmeal contains 1.6 grams of fiber or 3.2 grams per 1 cup out of the average of 25 grams of fiber that we need daily.

Apple is a rich source of vitamin A, C, and B6 while raisin is a good source of potassium. Pecan nuts are rich in oleic acid that is an excellent source of antioxidants.

It is available for Php67.00 in groceries and is good for 6-7 days.

2. Tipco Mixed Veggie & Fruit Juice

It's wise to be vegan. But most vegetables are odd in taste. And fruits are sometimes honestly expensive. Although I don't entirely recommend ready-to-consume juices over real vegetable and fruits, Tipco mixed veggie & fruit juice is one health-seeker friendly alternative.

It's a concoction of carrots, orange, tomato, celery, passion fruit, and pineapple made into a consumable, non-bitter tasting juice. It's organic so you are sure it doesn't just come from anywhere.

I take 1 glass or 240ml of it per day that is good for almost 5 days. Every 1 liter of Tipco juice is available for  Php115.00 in select food stores.

3. Magic Flakes Multigrain Whole Wheat Crackers

Each pack has 4 pieces of whole wheat crackers that translates to 3 grams of fiber. It can be bought for around Php28.00 for 12 pieces in groceries that is  better than synthetic chocolates & chips.

Here's a clincher thought, counting calories and talking about nutrition facts is overwhelming. At one point they take so much time. What is actually essential is to go for health friendly food choices (at reasonable prices) and take variety of them in moderation.

Things don't need to taste bland to consider them healthy. There is a plethora of healthy food choices we can all take joy in eating.
