5 Beach Travel Attires a Woman Should Always Have

Packing for a beach travel is as hard as packing for any other international vacation travels. Us women, most especially would want to make sure we load in our bags all the things we need for, let’s admit, picture takings. 

It’s frustrating to know that we are limited to few activities only because we overlooked one beach essential. 

It goes without saying that making time to plan outfits is obligatory. The catch-22 comes with deciding which one’s important and which ones to deliberately leave unpacked.

Continue reading if you agree that a beach travel attire should be comfortable, well-rounded, and stylish at the same time. Hence, the following beach day outfits:

1. Long-sleeved Beach Tunic Dress

Over midi & maxi dresses, tunic dress is tons more comfortable. It is quintessentially made with breathable types of fabrics so it is easy to dry and gives a more floaty and attractive look.  

Long semi-sheer sleeves particularly add versatility as they can be folded & sported into three-quarter sleeves for variety.

Depending on the color, tunic dress can be on-trend seasonally. Its natural light material serves as a wind break for our skin, avoiding the rather embarrassing and ghastly patterns of sunburn. 

Unlike other types of beach dresses, tunics are lightweight, allowing us to move freely without necessarily feeling bulky.

If looking comfortable yet feminine matters, there is no need to show extra skin because tunics are natural head turners.

2. Appropriate Body-Type Bikinis

This is honestly one of the most common fashion miscues. Some women spend needless amount on bikinis they like that don’t essentially flatter their bodies; because first, the bikinis don’t match with their body types.

Small on top:  Try triangular, string strapped bikini tops with fringes, ruffles, and frills to create an optical illusion and make your body a little voluminous on top

More belly: Try belted one piece to give it an hour-glass slender look. Black colored bikinis create the trick. Slightly loose tankinis and below-y bottoms flatter the extra love handles too.

Bigger booty: Try bottoms with rings to keep your added fag-end from riding.

Busty: Try v-neck bikinis to make it look slimmer. Definitely avoid bandeaus.

3. Beach totes

Tote is where you tuck your belongings in. It’s not edgy so it gives enough space for all the things you need to bring with you while taking a stroll. 

Find one with compartments. Your things become more organized when your bag is a multitask-er.

4. Thong Sandals

There are many flat sandals available, but thong sandals give a more secure grip on your toe fingers. They come in many designs so they can look chic and convenient. 

The pointing-forward look of the thong sandal straps gives the legs an elongated look as well.

5. Fedora hat

A fedora hat is a certified looker. It can glam up an entire beach outfit without having to wear excess bangles & necklaces. Paired with a good sunnies, fedora hats can go a long way. Plus it’s a good shade from unsolicited UV rays.

A New Crush On Charles & Keith

I have never been so vocal about it. Most of the time I make sure my life is nonpublic as much as I am a non-celeb. 

But there are exemptions to the rule. That's when I speak of one among many others, fashion, and the way I assert my preference. And I'm having a soft spot on Charles & Keith's understated colours and subtle design details. 

I am particularly fascinated with the cream tote bag which can be used concurrently as a handbag. More essentials can be tucked inside which is something advantageous when shopping, heading for school or office, catching a get-together, or when traveling. 

The color can basically complement with anything but it can be worn less formally by pairing it with denims or basic colored trousers and tops.

The allure tote bag and the classic and funky belt are another get-up to die for. They can be worn on a Sunday stroll or on a casual date. As though this collection is suitable for a devil-may-care period of the day or they can be pulled together for corporate occasions.

They are multipurpose so they can actually be worth the deal.

Just recently, Charles & Keith announced that they are now open for shipping to Malaysia and Vietnam. It's a good news for the junkies there.

Charles & Keith Autumn ’12 Style

It’s a sudden prate of delight. Charles & Keith is adding subtle buckle details to their Autumn 2012 Style Collection.

I haven’t really blogged much about designer brand collections. But the touch of leather materials and the hues of earth colors always get my eyes trapped. Charles & Keith’s autumn collection contained ample sophistication in their choices of colors-- cream, sand, green, and beige.

I distinctly like the color blocking of beige, toasted almond, wood antique cherry in that wallet. They’re all neutral and can be worn as base with any other accent color.

Earth colors do not lose their place in the fashion limelight. That said they actually make a practical wardrobe investment.

Aagh! That belt, clutch bag, wallet, and pair of boots are a stunner!Not at a loss for words this time.

Ambatik by Fini Wowor

H&M, Forever 21, Cristobal Balenciaga designs and many other fashion lines hyped the increase of women and men clothing stores online. 

Today there is already huge selection of chic clothes that trendy buyers can choose from. Mullet skirts, pleated dresses, wide leg pants and bohemian styles are the ones that mostly invade the ramp and are few of my personal preferences too.

Fashion-onlookers not only hunt for new get-up to update their wardrobe but inspiration on how to exactly wear it without looking ridiculous. Cropped tops, for example, are better worn with high-waist denims or trousers than with bubble skirts.

Another difficulty is how to pull together accessories to glam up an outfit. If you are not so oriented you tend to over accessorize yourself.  Or become overly plain and dull. That said, batik printed fabrics has become one of the “accessorizing-problem” fix to many fashionistas.

Traditional batik patterns

In the Philippines, batiks are mostly found in Mindanao. They are used both as fashion wear and accent in the home. At least we deserve to know that batiks are a shared heritage with the Indonesians. Traditional batik patterns include wide stripes, wavy lines or an abstract tapestry of circles and shapes made from waxing and dyeing. It has become passé up until the rebirth of freshly innovated batik patterns through Ambatik.

Ambatik is a fashion brand specialized in knit batik. It is a cutting-edge from the traditional batik by using its waxing and dyeing technique on the jersey (knit fabric), offering a unique and distinctive Indonesian clothing.

I exchanged dialogues with the fashion genius behind Ambatik, Ms. Fini Wowor. She is a 28-year-old designer from Jakarta, Indonesia. She studied Fashion Design and Tailoring in ESMOD (l'Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode) Jakarta which proves her design reliability. 

She first worked in Morning Star Indonesia mainly as a creative director until 2011 before starting her fashion line Ambatik in 2009. Currently, she mainly works for Ambatik, designing and managing the fashion line.

Fini started Ambatik in 2009. It began by designing made to order pieces, using and mixing different batik material from Java. However as the fashion line advanced, Fini already wanted to take the brand to a more casual and fresh take on batik. Her love for jersey and desire to wear something that could represent her Indonesian cultural heritage moved her to experiment innovating the traditional batik fabric using waxing and dyeing technique on a medium that almost never used before, the jersey/ knit fabric.

How is batik printed clothes different from other fabric pattern designs?

Batik is actually the process of waxing and dyeing. Other pattern fabric would have the pattern printed on top of the fabric. With batik, wax is applied to cloth through (1) hand-drawn by "canting," a wooden handled tool with a tiny metal cup and a tiny spout out of which the wax seeps, or by (2) stamping hot wax to the fabric using the "cap," a pre-carved wooden or copper block. Where the wax has seeped through the fabric, the dye will not penetrate. 

After dyeing the cloth for coloring, the fabric is hung up to dry then dipped in a solvent to dissolve the wax. As a result, batik fabric will reflect designs on both sides of the cloth, unlike other pattern fabric with design on only one side.

The detailed explanation of Fini on what makes Ambatik distinctive of other designs elated me. Fortunately I was able to ask how Ambatik clothes are made. It first begins with designing the “cap” or stamp for the batik process and the collection for the season. Once the "cap" are ready, plain jersey fabric are then stamped and go through the batik process. When the batik fabric is done, production begins for the clothes.

I particularly love Ambatik’s oversized t-shirts for women, miniskirts, and cardigans. The hues of earth and pastel colors plus the good contrast offers a more vibrant look. Its abstract and freshly innovated batik patterns are more acceptable to the modern fashion demands of the people today. The designs are generally applicable for men and women at a broad range of age. And of course, Ambatik tops most especially won’t give you hard time pairing it with your dungarees.

I’d get to ask Fini what tips she can give to her future Ambatik customers on how to wear batik printed clothes. And this is what she had to say, “My tip is to just have fun! Wear it just like you would any printed clothing, except with Ambatik you're also sustaining a cultural heritage”.  She knows very well that the frugality of her fashion line Ambatik would make most of its buyers fashionable…and comfortable.
