5 Favorite Fashion Pieces You Should Have for 2013/ 2014

It's one thing to know what's on trend for the year, and it's another to be able to maximize what we add into our wardrobe so that we look in style. There are many ways by which we can learn the ropes of styling ourselves. I, for instance, turn to my favorite fashion shows and magazines. Way easier-- and accessible for all of us-- is to do a quick search on google

Thanks to this generous accessibility, I keep posted. And everything you need to learn (that I can share) about fashion right now may come in the next sentences. From Vogue to The Guardian unearths a spate of  fashionable pieces we all can sport-- the top of them being: A- line skirts, black and white graphics, mid- heel shoes, leathers, denims, bold ethnic prints, geometric cuts and patterns, and grunge.

But let's admit that some of us are limited by the comforts of neutrals, and oversize tops and year- old jeans. Because there's a slight risk in combining colors and style of clothes, even when we are familiar on how to do it. Sometimes we still need, and to consider our womanly, um, appetite for affirmation that we look good in what we are wearing the moment we step out of our homes-- a sure guide.

Below are 5 on- trend fashion pieces which I suggest you should have for this year and the next. They are great on the high street at the moment. The better news is that, they are actually the fashion pieces which you can lightly mix and match to double your wardrobe options. In keeping with our first goal to maximize what we have in our wardrobe, this advantage is also something that won't leave a huge dent on our clothing budget, if at all.

Chambray Top

Trust me; I know. Denims are always part of fashion no matter what season. Chambray tops are one of its hybrids. It has an effect to make the one wearing it look younger. Tips: choose an understated washed- out chambray.

First pairing-- chambray top + leather pants (or shorts) + neutral-colored coat + knee- high boots. It's perfect for the cold days, plus the chambray downplays the edgy look of leather and the classic coat.

Second paring-- chambray top + A- line floral skirt + black pointed- toe pumps + cream antigona bag (or anything geometrically framed bag). It's appropriate for spring and brunch. Tips: choose a skirt of the same shade as chambray, pair it with a belt to give your waist a shape and avoid making you look heavyset on your body trunk. Add a gold statement necklace for detail.

Third pairing-- chambray top + denim pants + blue pumps + green clutch bag. Denim on denim rules. It gives a laid- back urban look. Tips: pair it with skinny jeans (especially when you decide to have it untucked). Pair it with a blue pumps and a green clutch bag-- they'll look sleek together. You can also add a metallic arm candy or two since denims alone would look a little too bare.

Fourth pairing-- chambray top + graphic art sleeveless top + orange shorts + peep-toe wedges or oxford shoes. It's perfect for summer or for a late- afternoon stroll. Tips: wear it over a graphic art sleeveless top. An orange color will give it a positive vibe.

Origami Skorts

Geometric cuts are so in now. Origami skort is one its types that has a cutting- edge impression. While it looks like a skirt on the outside, it's actually shorts which you can try on for an easy dressing without compromising style. Tips: choose a color you can pair with almost any  other colors (white or black).

First pairing: origami skort + blue sleeveless or halter top + ankle- high boots + earth- toned clutch. As I said, choose something which you can pair with any colors, a bold shade of blue for example. Pairing it with ankle- high boots would make you look grunge but chic. This ensemble has just a different effect.

Second pairing: origami skort + white knit top or graphic tee + ankle- strap platforms + black clutch. White on white trend that is a perfect fit for brunch or shopping over the weekend. It's a more hued down look but add a black belt to accentuate your body shape.

Third pairing: origami skort + Ain't Laurent Without Yves Jumper + white peter pan- collared top + white mid-heel pointed- toe shoes + neon handbag or pastel- colored clutch. The look is fit for a night out or  the rainy days. Tips: wear the black jumper over the peter pan- collared top for style. The white heel shoes and handbag will balance everything from looking too preppy.

Fourth pairing: origami skort + black sheer long- sleeve top + ankle- high gladiator shoes or oxfords + white baseball cap. It's a sexier look perfect for casual occasions. Tips: have the long- sleeve top tucked in and add a snake-skinned clutch to add variety to the black and white mixture.

Leather Jacket

Leathers are always top fashion reincarnation. Whilst you think it's a difficult piece to pair with, it has started to become one of the fashion pieces that can get you through each season. And the best pick of them all is a leather jacket.

First pairing:  leather jacket + *any top* + black skinny jeans + black scarf + knee- high boots + bloody red slings from Prada or any other (even less expensive) brand. Tips: choose a non- leather pants, it's a big no-no to pair leather with a leather. You can sport any top, anything goes with black. Add scarf for warmth, and, style. The bloody red sling will carry everything from looking too dusky. This is particularly perfect for winter or a late- night dinner somewhere.

Second pairing: leather jacket + floral maxi dress + mid- heel wedge sandals + black balenciaga handbag. This look is perfect for spring. The combination is rough but feminine you can be comfortable wearing while at a flea market or while finishing a cup of espresso in a noshery.

Third pairing: leather jacket + earth- toned cotton knit top + boyfriend jeans + black pumps + brown cross body bag from mulberry or any other brands. If you're heading out for a casual meet- up, this look could be for you. Tips: have the cotton knit top tucked in your jeans, it will make you feel free and easy, while the black pumps serves as your sexy side of the look.

Fourth pairing: leather jacket + pink sleeveless top + floral shorts + peep- toe clogs + green belt. The colors are in themselves an absolute pairing. This look is good for summer. The leather will add a more chic but unusual vibe on it.

Animal Printed Pieces

Animal- printed pieces, whether clothes or shoes or bags, are stylish accessories by default. You can wear them without necessarily adding too much extras. And they're still in.

First pairing: studded animal print oxfords + chambray top + leather shorts + caramel or brown colored bag. The look is casually voguish. You can wear it to a late afternoon shopping or to a sporty event. Tips: have the chambray top tucked in. You can also play it with an updo hairstyle.

Second pairing: animal print clutch bag + black peplum bodycone dress + camo jacket + peep- toe curved heel wedge. Sport this look on a dinner date or casual party. Tips: wear the camo jacket as a cover- up. You can also add metallic arm candies to complete the look.

Third pairing: animal print long sleeve top + white shorts + pink clutch + pink/ gold pumps. This look is perfect for spring. You can wear this to a brunch or an afternoon date with your girlfriends. Tips: try the hi- low tuck in to make it more chic.

Fourth pairing: animal print shorts + black sheer halter top + gold ankle- strap pumps + black shopper from Harrod's or any other brands. This look is perfect for summer. You can also wear this to shopping or late afternoon dine. Tips: it's best to leave the halter top untucked.

Burglar Stripes

I like this fashion piece best of all. You'll probably notice how black and white graphics are everywhere in the fashion world right now. Burglar stripe pants particularly suits best for most women, especially those who need some slimming and height. It offers an extensively stylish and modern look.

First pairing: burglar stripe pants + black sleeveless top + royal blue pumps + oxblood red clutch. This is perfect for any occasion: brunch, shopping, meet- ups, dinner. Tips: choose a body hugging top to emphasize your body. As much as you'd like to try this look with a shoe-laced oxford shoes, this fashion piece is essentially made for high heels or wedges.

Second pairing: burglar stripe pants + op- art long sleeve top + peep- toe leather platform + box- framed bag + black turban + circle sunnies. This ensemble everything fashion combined. You can try this for brunch or a casual date.

Third pairing: burglar stripe pants + multi cross graphic muscle tee + leather jacket + spike pointed- toe pumps. This look is chic and edgy. A monochromatic look. Tips: you can again try the hi- low tuck in for the muscle tee to avoid adding more weight on your body.
